The “backbone” of our schedule; designed to connect the student with his/her inner teacher in order to develop a yoga practice that meets their physical, emotional and mental needs. Students prompted to work at their “edge” and to let go of competition and unrealistic expectations. Modifications are given to help reach the individual’s fullest potential.

Ashtanga Foundations: All Levels
Ashtanga Foundations is an introductory class to the Primary Series of Ashtanga. It is appropriate for those at the beginning stages of yoga practice as well as for those wishing a slightly shorter class than the full Ashtanga Primary Series. This class includes Sun Salutations, standing postures, and seated postures of the Ashtanga form, completing half of the Ashtanga Primary Series. Modifications are given for all postures, so anyone from a beginner to an experienced yoga practitioner will derive enjoyment from this class. Class is 75 minutes long.
Awaken your inner muse! Beginning with breath, mindfulness, and creative intention, we then move into soft and simple yoga flows to gently awaken creative energy, liberate the breath, and release tension, and then we wind down to more restorative poses for profound rejuvenation, self-nurturing, and creative introspection.
The movement in this class is mindful, pleasant and flows slowly enough to allow time for poses to unfold gracefully and peacefully whilst, at the same time, offering mild challenges.
Guided meditation, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques such as Yoga Nidra are also woven into these classes. They are suitable for all ability levels.
Relax and unwind! While “yang” yoga focuses on your muscles, yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. We take the time while holding poses to cultivate creativity and inspire you with mini guided meditations and stories. The practice of yin yoga is based on ancient Chinese philosophies and Taoist principles which believe there are pathways of Qi (energy) that run through our bodies. By stretching and deepening into poses, we’re opening up any blockages and releasing that energy to flow freely.
This class is appropriate for all!
This class is designed as an introduction to the practice of yoga but is also suitable for the more experienced student who wishes to refine their poses. Class is slower paced than an all-levels class, and focuses on developing clear and safe alignment in foundational poses. Come to learn, play, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. You don’t need to be able to touch your toes; you just have to be willing to try.
