Reading the Room with a Teacher’s Eye

Seeing with a “teacher’s eye” is a skill set that can be developed over time with lots of patience, practice, and persistence. Being able to take in the whole class and also do our best to take in the “whole” of each student. In this workshop, we’ll practice how to have a “Teacher’s Eye” and what it means to read the room and recognize some of the common cues and clues that are right in front of us. We have to cultivate the ability to see both the body and beyond the body – to serve our students at the deepest levels. This is also an important prerequisite before we start to offer physical adjustments or hands-on assists. If we can learn how to look at both the person and their practice in a more holistic, open-minded & open-hearted way, we can create an environment where your students are truly seen and feel like they matter.
